‘Inside Out 2’ teaser introduces a new emotion we can all relate to

The teaser trailer for Disney and Pixar’s Inside Out 2 has arrived, and it introduces a new emotion we can all relate to: anxiety.

The trailer begins with Riley, now a teenager, facing the challenges of adolescence. She’s trying to balance her school work, her social life, and her growing family, and it’s all taking a toll on her.

This is where the worry comes in. Voiced by Maya Hawke, Anxiety is a new character who joins Joy, Sadness, Anger, Fear, and Disgust in Riley’s mind headquarters. Anxiety is a helpful emotion, but it can also be overwhelming, especially for a teen who is trying to figure things out.

In the trailer, we see Worry trying to help Riley with her new life, but she ends up making Riley worry and overthink things. At one point, Riley even revealed anxiety was “too much.”

But the trailer also suggests that anxiety is a significant part of Riley’s emotional landscape. She helps Riley to be aware of potential dangers and prepare for the unexpected. And she also helps Riley appreciate the good things in her life, even when she’s feeling anxious.

The teaser trailer for Inside Out 2 is a heartwarming and funny reminder that we all have a little angst inside of us. And that’s okay. Anxiety can be a powerful force for good, if we learn to manage it in a healthy way.

The film is scheduled to release in theaters on June 16, 2024.
